ViTra Academy has partnered with Ukrainian artist,

Ihti Anderson,

to support

Peace for Ukraine.

Ihti Anderson is an international artist whose work is celebrated in psychedelic and festival culture worldwide.  His recognizable paintings can be found printed, projected, and worn on clothing. His iconic stage designs and shade structures inspire evolving trends in festival scenes.

In 2016, Ihti began teaching at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art, where he transmitted his special UV painting methods on dark backdrops.  In March 2020 The Vienna Academy of Visionary Art was forced to close as a response to the global health crisis.  It was then that Ihti Anderson met ViTra Academy founder, Alecia Sacred Heart, while producing a fundraiser workshop series to support their friends and colleagues affected by the academy's closure.  Ihti's course on perspective was an intense download that quickly moved through exercises over a packed four hour session.

This class was so well received, many asked for Ihti to offer a seminar to explore these concepts further. So that fall Ihti and Alecia came back together to produce a series of classes inspired by that workshop where Ihti expanded upon those exercises over the course of four classes.  Then, in June of '21 they produced another course, "Composition - Keys for Beauty".

It was always the intention to prepare these recordings in order to further share these teachings, but now seemed like the most important time

Last year Ihti returned to his hometown of Odessa, Ukraine after many years of raising his children in Spain.  In February of this year, Russian forces invaded his country, with a devastating loss of lives and unfathomable damage to communities.  In this moment, all of Ihti's creative pursuits have been refocused toward helping his local communities face many challenges as a result of this ongoing conflict with his "Peace for Ukraine Fundraiser" project.

This series has been created as a response to these events, with the intention to support Ihti in his service to his local communities as they navigate these difficult times together.  He spends every day volunteering, helping provide services like transportation for women and children to the border, securing food, delivering supplies, packing first aid kits, sewing gear together for volunteers, etc.  It is our desire to contribute to his efforts so that he may be able to continue.

We have lightly edited and curated these five classes taught by Ihti to progress you through composition strategies into applied perspective exercises in order to take your spacial understanding to the next octave of expression!

All the profits will go directly to Ihti Anderson so that he may be able to continue to provide for Ukrainians in need.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your interest and care.  Now more than ever the world is requesting us to take notice and work as a global network to offer measurable solutions for those in need.

Because of YOU we are able to do this TOGETHER

IHTI ANDERSON

Ihti Anderson

The art of Ihti Anderson is unique. From one tapestry to the next, intergalactic beings mingle with undersea creatures in organic nets or polygonal webs – all aglow in ultra-violet colours against a black background.

Since 2005, he has been touring the world (with his wife and family), exhibiting his large U.V. tapestries and creating sacred spaces for festivals and tribal gatherings. Through these extensive travels, his art has evolved from psy-trance decorations to highly-detailed hieratic compositions, carefully conceived and painted on stretched canvas.

“My art can be attributed to the current flow of Visionary Art,” he says. “I think that this particular direction in art plays a very important role in the development of art and humanity in general. It’s an art that opens doors to other dimensions, into the worlds of the subconscious, expressing what is hidden from the ordinary human eye, presenting other creatures and objects that can’t otherwise be touched or explained.”

And he adds: “Visions occur to all of us – everyone can see them in a dream, in deep meditation, in prayer, or just randomly in the middle of the day. Often, the information hidden in a vision can have a very important role – not only for the specific person, but for humanity as a whole. To emphasize this, I use signs and symbols from different cultures and sacred geometry.”

Ihti Anderson is largely self-taught, developing his unique style through years and years of drawing since childhood: “I didn’t study art, but I drew all my life without really giving it much attention. At some point, I felt that a lot of knowledge had opened up inside me – as a kind of reminder of what I should do and how should I draw… So, I put away all my fears and I started doing what I truly felt in my heart. Now I have the feeling that I’ve been doing this for many lives…”

The artist uses a variety of media, from U.V acrylics on a black background to airbrushing, computer graphics and more traditional media. His activities have expanded from decoration to digital printing, performance, and producing his own line of silk-screened or hand-painted clothing.

His art is inspired by personal experience, but expands into more universal themes. From crowned three-headed deities to coiling vision serpents, from sacred madalas to fractalline matrices, his art abounds in the trance-induced imagery so unique to our times. “The works are like a history of our life, feelings, visions, experiences and the deeper understandings that we’ve had at some period in our life. By traveling around the world and exhibiting our art, we try to bring an understanding of the more important aspects of life, like Universal Law, Birth, and Love.”

Ihti is passionate about developing both the artist’s technique and the powers of their imagination. “The imagination plays a very important role and, if you don’t limit yourself, it has no boundaries. The imagination gives us wings, and helps us to fly through worlds that are much broader and multidimensional than the world we see with the outer eye.”

Currently, Ihti is residing in Odessa, Ukraine.  Today, he focuses his energy on supporting his local communities being afflicted by the war in Ukraine.

WITH PROFOUND GRATITUDE,

WE HOPE THESE LESSONS
